Question |
|
I get an errormessage: "Error 53 - file not found" |
| |
Answer |
|
Error 53 " refers to a general "file not found" and can occur in different situations. Most likely, plugins have been installed for x-ray hardware that are not physically installed. An installation of a plugin will copy special systemfiles and possible drivers. The plugin will be added to DentalEye´s startuproutines and therefore create an error when trying to load a plugin that doesn´t seem to have the hardware connected or drivers (correctly) installed.
Make sure to ONLY install the plugins for which you have the hardware. In case you´ve installed all plugins then these need to be either uninstalled through "Add and remove software..." in Control Panel or by removing the startup-option for this plugin in DentalEye.
Go to the Tools menu an PluginOptions. Choose to remove those plugins that are not needed.
"Error 53" can also refer to missing backgroundfiles specified in System, Preferences, Appearance. |

Question |
|
DentalEye crashes while choosing a template (after having updated to version 3.0.471) |
| |
Answer |
|
Some components in DentalEye collide with videodrivers for ATI or Intel graphicscards but only on Windows 98. You can upgrade to Windows2000 (if your xrayhardware is compatible with Windows2000) or download a special update for this issue with DentalEye, ATI or Intel and Windows98. Go to Download. For more information on how to update DentalEye we refer to the "Howto" page |

Question |
|
What capturecard works well with DentalEye? |
| |
Answer |
|
DentalEye will call the drivers delivered by the manufacturor of the captecard. DentalEye follows certain standards to capture the image and is therefore depending on the quality of the provided drivers. Some capturecards work well in Windows98 but not at all in Windows2000 or XP with updated drivers. Contact us, so we may guide you in your choice of capturecard. |

Question |
|
What databasetype do I choose when installing DentalEye? |
| |
Answer |
|
DentalEye supports Microsoft Access and Microsoft SQL Server based databases.
Performance and managebility will determine what type you use.
MS Access will do fine for up to 10 users. When more than 10 users are connected to the same database MS SQLserver is recommended. The desktopversion of SQLServer (MSDE) can be installed on the server in the network. We refer to the readme.txt on the installationCD for more detailed instruction. |
